The street pictured above is one of the busiest areas of the metropolitan city of Karachi. Its secluded image shows that things are anything but normal in the city. The horrific truth is that the same state exists in not only the whole country but the whole world. Indeed a period going down into all history books.
When a pandemic of this scale is in question, economies around the world have been hit hard and so has the automobile industry; even harder than others as lockdown in many parts of the world means no on the road movement. Talking Pakistan the image below shows a
recent headline informing closure of all major automobile factories. Closure of factories means workers will be laid off, daily wage earners will be stranded and depending on the stretch of the lockdown companies may even go out of business.
There are many different types of precautions going around the media, I liked this one because of how interestingly it presents the message suited for the masses of our country, do give it a look:
An example of how this disease can be combated is how Wuhan,
China (where the disease first started) combated it, the image below explains the intense precautions taken by the people there. Everyone who’s outside is wearing a mask, social distancing practiced at a big scale and habits such as hand-washing set into daily routines. On 19th
March, 2020 finally Wuhan reported NO new cases of the virus offering a glimmer of hope to the rest of the world that the precautionary measures can actually be successful.
I understand the argument that Pakistan cannot compare
itself to China on many grounds. Yes, that’s right but the least we can do is
to take the precautions ourselves, explain this to the people dear to us and if
we are financially stable enough; help others in need. JDC is doing a great job
in the relief efforts and you would find many other NGOs who are out there
giving ration boxes to those who are on daily wages. As Maulana Tariq Jameel
said in his message to the public “Live like a kin, live like a nation”. Some
World Health Organisation(WHO) precautions can also be seen below.
On this note, with hope that my two cents may help to contribute something in helping our people get out of this dismay. Remember, the less seriously we take this lockdown and this virus, the worse it will get. Ali Moen Nawazish said and I quote “The virus will die until it transmits human to human”. All we need to do is stay strong and hang in there along with taking precautionary measures to make sure we can see this virus off with the least amount of damage.
As said on our Facebook posts, Aziz Autos will be hosting watch parties on the community group to keep you all entertained and to take this opportunity and impart some knowledge. We have been doing our research on the virus for this blog post and generally too
so anyone who needs any help can reach out to us.
Stay safe, stay home, stay strong!
Pakistan Zindabad!
